The High Plains Youth Hockey Association was formed in 2011 in conjunction with the opening of the United Wireless Arena in Dodge City, KS. The new arena provides a full sized hockey rink to the community for the first time ever! We are also indebted to our generous donors and Sponsors.

A small group of people who were either very interested in youth hockey or who had played some form of the game decided local area children and adults would benefit from being exposed to the game. They gathered together to make youth hockey happen in the community. They formed an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization and brought the organization into affiliation with the Mid West Amateur Hockey Association and the national governing body of hockey - USA Hockey.
